Today’s Attitude of Love: Forgiveness at The Cross
The most important aspect of the Christian faith is the Cross, which Christ died on and bore all of our sins. For without the Cross, we have nothing but our own deeds to present to God on the day of judgement.
So in Today’s Attitude of Love, I want us to focus on what the Cross represents to us, Gods Forgiveness of our sins.
It is the most beautiful act of love there is, Christ leaving his Heavenly Throne to come to earth and die for us. You see, since the fall of man with Adam and Eve, the human race, has been trying to atone for our own sins through different types of sacrifices to God. But God loves us so much, that He was willing and did send His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for both you and I and ALL OUR SINS. many times though, we don’t think our sins can be forgiven. We buy into the lies of the enemy, and listen to him as he tells us we are good enough, that we have done too many bad things for God ever to forgive us. The is the biggest lie straight from the pits of Hell. If we listen to that lie, then what we are really saying is that God I not strong enough or that Jesus’s death on the cross is worthless. You God did not choose to send his son Jesus Christ to die so that some would be saved as long as they were not to bad. God sent Him that all could be saved (John 3:16).
So then, what are we to do if we have bought into that lie from the enemy. First, come to the Cross and ask God to forgive you of your sin. Then if you have not ask Jesus Christ to be your lord and savior, simply ask him to come into your life and be your lord and savior. God tells us that he will toss our sins as far as the east is from the west. The blood of Christ has atone our sins for those who choose to believe and repent.
So today, if you have bought into the lie, stop. Come to the Cross and lay your burdens down and find the peace and forgiveness that awaits you. It is the most beautiful act of love there is.
God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s available for everyone! We’re being shown how to turn our backs on a godless, indulgent life, and how to take on a God-filled, God-honoring life. This new life is starting right now, and is whetting our appetites for the glorious day when our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, appears. He offered himself as a sacrifice to free us from a dark, rebellious life into this good, pure life, making us a people he can be proud of, energetic in goodness. (Titus 2:11-14 MSG)
