House On Fire

What would you do if you saw a house on fire?  Would you attempt to rescue the people inside?  What if your house was on fire?  Of course I am not talking about an actual house fire, I am talking about a spiritual fire caused by sin.  The flames from this fire, much like the flames of a real fire, can spread and destroy anything in its path.  Do you know how to protect yourself from the fires of this life?  Come listen as we try to help you equip yourself and protect you from these fires.

  1. Protecting oneself from the flames of sin, that’s a catchy concept. However, to you follow your analogy, I believe that saving yourself from those flames is futile. We are creatures who, due to the temporary warmth we believe we get from it and the beauty we see in it, like to play with matches and watch them burn. It is through the flood waters of Christ’s forgiveness that we, a bunch of pyromaniacs, are saved, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we can rebuild our houses, now with the glorification of the Father in mind.
I did enjoy your illustration and hope to read many more.
