“I am Second” is sweeping the nation by storm. Many Athletes and other Stars, are coming forward with their stories / testimonies on how they became Christians and the struggles they have had. It is a fantastic movement, and one that really hits home for someone like me. Although I am not famous, I do have a story, as most of us do. However, I find that many Christians are unwilling to share that story. Some are afraid, while others are just “not comfortable”.
We as Christians, MUST be willing to share our faith, our story and our struggles. We must be willing to be transparent, for that is the only true way non-believers can see Christ through us. After all, if I have a wood door and say it is transparent, but only have a peep hole to see through, I am not going to see as much as if I had a clear glass door to look through. Much is the same with our lives. We can say God has change us, but if we are unwilling to share and open the door, how is anyone to really know what God has done or how He has changed us?
So many times, I get so turned off by the church today… the reason is, there is nothing real there! So many people put on their Sunday Mask and walk into church and Sunday School Classes as if nothing is going on or as if they have never had any struggles (be honest, you know what I am talking about). If we truly want a revival in our nation, in our cities, in our churches, it must start in our hearts! We must be willing to Trust God in our lives and share! Hiding our story is almost like hiding our faith… We all are humans and we have all fallen short of the Glory of God, so why can’t we be honest with one another and put our struggles, failures, hurts and fears out there so it might be able to help someone else? God has the power and will use our lives, but only if we let Him. Will you share your story? If we truly believe what we say we do, we will… The Bible tells us numerous times, “to go and tell of the good works He has done. (Translation: Transparent)”
I challenge you today.. share your story! Let God use your life to help someone who might be struggling with the same things you did. Victory is ours… but only if we claim it!
Mark 5:19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your family and tell
them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on
