My Walk with Jesus Vol.19 “New Beginnings”

For most of you reading this, you have already confessed your sins unto the Lord and asked Him to be your Lord and Savior.  But do not fear there is something here for you also… Today’s message has two parts, the first part will focus on people who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior.  The second part will focus on us believers who may have fallen away, but are looking for a new beginning.  So I pray that this message finds the one who needs to hear it.  So please, share as you see fit.

To all who are reading this and have not asked God to be your Lord and Savior, let me just say I know exactly what you are feeling.  The feelings will range from, complete emptiness, to bitterness and anger.  But rest assured that we have all been there.  I want to first start by saying that God loves you so much.  He counts you more special then the heavens and the earth.  He knows all your burdens, all your pain and all your sorrows.  He wants to help you, for the Bible tells us that, he has plans for you to prosper.  It also says that, he who is weary, cast your burdens to Him and He will make your burdens light.  And last but not least, He loves you so much that He sent His one and only Son Jesus to die on the cross for your every sin…. past, present and future.  ( 16“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16) You might say, I have done way to much in my life for God ever to forgive me.  Well my friend, that is simply not the case.  The Bible tells us that sin is sin… there is no greater sin than the next.  There is only one sin that will separate you from God and eternal life and that is denying the Holy Spirit.  The Bible also states, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ~ Romans 3:23.  That means you, me, and everyone, except Jesus.  No man has walked this earth and not sinned, no man except Jesus.  Sin has separated us from God from the very beginning with Adam and Eve.  That is why He sent His one and only Son Jesus to bare our sins on the cross.  With His blood, you have been bought and paid for in full.  He died for all mankind, but it is a gift of eternal life.  And as with any gift, you must first accept it in order for it to be received. So today I invite you to join our family, a family of believers, a family that we call the Body of Christ.  If you want and feel that the Lord is calling you, please join me in this prayer:

“Father, I know that Ihave broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again.  I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.  Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. ~ Romans 10:9-10 (New International Version)

For our brothers and sisters who might have fallen away…

19Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord ~ Acts 3:19

My dear friends, it is easy, even as Christians to get caught up in this crazy world we live in.  It becomes so enticing at times, that we may fall and not even realize it until we have fallen so far, it is hard to find the way back up.  Let me tell you from experience, that the Lord is right next to you willing and waiting to forgive you and give you a fresh start.  Many times in my walk, I have stumbled, tripped and even fallen to the point I didn’t even recognize the man in the mirror.  When I realized where I was, I simply asked God to restore me, my passion, and my drive for Him.  And guess what, before I knew it, I was back on the road.

Satan knows and likes to use our weakness to distract us from fulfilling Gods plan for our lives.  He knows our little buttons that he can push to make us feel down, angry, upset, but the most often, he uses is our past.  He loves to throw past up to make us feel unworthy of what God has planned for us.  My friends, when this happens, recognize that this is a flat out lie!  If you are in Christ, your past is the past, God has forgiven you and thrown ALL you sins into the sea of forgetfulness.  Do not let Satan be victorious in a battle, when the war has already been won.  Rebuke him in the name of Jesus, and flat out tell him he has no power over you, that you are a child of Gods and his lies have been called out.   We are no long slaves to his wicked ways, but we are rather slaves to the kingdom of God.  The chains have been broken and we have been bought and paid for in full, by the Blood of Christ on the cross.  So be free my dear friends!

Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.                      ~ Romans 6:19-23
