How many of us have tried to live our Christian lives by the Law? How many of us still are? The reality is that most of us have and sadly, many of us are still in bondage because we are stuck trying to live by the Law rather than Grace.
The purpose of the Law was never meant to save us. It could never redeem us, for if it could, there would be no reason for Jesus. The very purpose of the Law was given to show us all the wrong things we were doing against God’s Will. (Galatians 3:19) Even now that we have Christ, we can still never fulfill the Law. Like a mirror, the Law forces us to look at ourselves a see where the imperfections lye. Paul tell us, in Galatians, to stay the course in what we have been taught and what is true. I also tells us we are to be strong in our faith, so that we are not persuaded by false teaching of the Law. There are many out there today, that still sadly believe that you are saved by works, good deeds, obeying the Laws of Mosses and just by being a good person. These are all direct opposite of God’s Word. For our salvation is not obtained through good deeds, it is through our salvation that we produce the fruits of the spirit, which result in good deeds. Our salvation can not be obtained by the Law either, but it is through the transformation the takes place in our hearts by the Holy Spirits conviction, that we seek to obey the Law in love for God. (Romans 3) In saying that, we are not guided or governed by the Law. For it is written, the Law brings Gods wrath for all those who can not keep it, but for all those in Christ Jesus are covered by the atonement of His Blood. And no, you can’t obtain salvation just because you think you are a good person. While you may look good on the outside, God knows you on the inside and knows your heart, and truth be told, we are all filthy rags. For it is also written, all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. It is only by the blood of Jesus Christ, that we are washed white as snow.
Paul also gives a warning to all who preach the Law as part of the Good News. He tell us that they will be found guilty before God. This is no joke, Grace is on of the hardest things we as humans can fully understand. And truth be told, we will never fully understand Gods Grace. That is why is much easier for some to preach about the law and to try to make us believe we have to be perfect in order to gain Gods approval. We as Christians, will never need anything other then the Blood of Jesus to cover us and our transgressions. That is the only thing we need for Gods approval. By Faith in His Son Jesus’ death on the cross we are saved and by that alone. Jesus Himself, says, “no one can come to the Father except through me”. Notice He did not say “and by keeping the law of Mosses”. No, John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
My dear brothers and sisters, I urge you to really examine yourself. Are you still trying to obtain your freedom through the Law? Do you fully recognize your freedom in Christ? My guess is, if you are like me, the answer would be yes to the first question. And no the the second. We must realize that we are FREE from the Bondage and the Chains of the Law. Jesus Christ died on the cross for us to set us free. But yet we still listen to the lies of the enemy and the lies of people preaching on the Law. So how do you break free from those lies? I am so glad asked… The first step is true surrender. What I mean is, we must truly surrender our lives to God and seek Him first daily, in all we do. Second, get into the word. We need to be comparing everything we hear, read, or see to the Word of God. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us the Truth about Gods Word. Third, we need to Proclaim our Victory in Jesus Christ. Satan, will and does use anything and everything in his power to try to distract us, lie to us and deceive us from obtaining God’s Will for our lives and our Victory. He is that Master of lies and deceit, so we must guard ourselves with the Armor of God daily. If you don’t, he will sneak up on you quicker than you can believe and before you know it, you are looking around for what hit you.
In Closing:
We are saved by our faith in Jesus Christ and in Him alone by Gods Grace. Jesus was and is the payment in full for our salvation, nothing we can do will ever be enough to earn it any other way. So my dear friend, if you have been held in bondage by the chains of the Law, I pray that you will compare what I am saying to the Word of God, and find your True Freedom is Jesus Christ our Lord and in Him alone. You were bought with the precious blood of God’s One and Only Son. So Be Free, Go Break those chains today!

Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Mat 5:18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,(near as i can tell Earth is still here) not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Mat 5:19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandment and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mr Clark please explain above scriptures.
Could you please also define sin? According to God’s word 1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
